We normally have a grading session three times per year. They are usually held at Northumberland Church of England Academy in Ashington. A senior KUGB instructor will assess you on your ability to perform the necessary requirements for the belt you are going for. You must train regularly to enable yourself to progress and be able to demonstrate in a mock grading at our club that you are suitably ready to attempt the grading before you will be given permission to grade. Permission to grade does not guarantee that you will pass on the day, but is an indication that your instructor feels that you have achieved the required elements in class and are ready to attempt the grading.
